This paper focuses on Doupeng Xianhua, a telling-story novel by Aina Jushi in the early Qing Dynasty. Doupeng Xianhua is composed of twelve stories, with the similar structure model of Decameron of Italian novelist Boccaccio. The twelve stories in Doupeng Xianhua are separate in content and compose a whole work together. The book is characteristic in both structure and internal spirit different from other telling-story novels. However, there is little attention on the research of the novel, and the main study outcome is limited on its narrative. The paper will focus on the art characters of the book, and try to apply deconstruction theory to study some works in the book.The paper includes four parts. The first part is introduction, which mainly introduces basic information of Doupeng Xianhua and its author Aina Jushi, and briefly reviews the history and outcome of research on Doupeng Xianhua. The text is composed of three chapters. Chapter 1 elaborates the motivation of the creation of Doupeng Xianhua and its internal art spirit. First, the commercial writing tradition of telling-story novel is interpreted on a base of research on the origin and development of telling-story novel. Secondly, different commercial trends of several telling-story novelists in Ming and Qing Dynasty are identified through study on their works. Finally, after elaborating the text of Doupeng Xianhua and its preface and review, its internal art character that deviated from commercial writing tradition of telling-story novels, but close to the idea of writing for emotion held by some saga novelists is argued. Chapter 2 applies deconstruction theory to exploring the motif of Doupeng Xianhua. First, the deconstruction theory is briefly reviewed and introduced, and the deconstructive character of Doupeng Xianhua is explored. Secondly, the paper interprets Doupeng Xianhua with the perspective of deconstruction from traditional moral value system and love, marriage and ideality. Chapter 2 examines story origin of some works adapted from history tales.
