There are four chapters in this thesis. The preface analyze the characteristic and significance of Mr. You Fengwei' s novels. The first one is about his novel' s style of realism .Mr. You Fengwei is a writer who is full of the sense of responsibility and mission . Standing on the distinctive critical realism position and with the deep sympathy to the weak groups, he has done all he can to write the " score spot" of our society. From the folk-orientation ,the peasant in his novels is different to the style of Lu Xun' s, Which means ignorant and numbing. And it is also different to the that of Shen Congwen' s, which is too romantic to be true. The peasant in his novels is more true .The second one is about Mr. You Fengwei' s exploring of humanity. He either has found the drawback and weakness of humanity from the insipid normality and signed the helplessness of life or put his figures in the ultimate situations and arrive the most deep and secret place of human nature from the figure' s eruption in the twinkling of an eye.The third one is about Mr. You Fengwei' s conflicting idea of love. The love in his novels is classical and folk, He highly praise the love. However he puzzlingly found that the love is the source of crime and disaster.The fourth one is about Mr. You Fengwei' s sense of type of writing and the charming of his novels language. He absorbed the advantage of storytelling and the style of image narration, which makes his novels suit both refined and popular tastes. His novels language not only has a strong flavour of rural life , but also can break through the limit of district and add poetic quality aesthetic feeling ,which make his language become the model of folk language. He has attempted to break through the idea that the language is not only looked as instrument but also substance. Language itself can join the writing.Finally, the thesis points out that Mr. You Fengwei not only has been sticked to his literature position , but also not been neglected the masses. True folk position , sharp pain , perpetual human nature and magical language form the charming of Mr. You Fengwei' s novels.
