Comprehension monitoring is a critical component of reading comprehension. It runs through the reading process and includes all kinds of cognitive activities of reading process. Two experiments were conducted. In experiment 1, error detection and calibration of comprehension were used to investigate the reading comprehension monitoring ability of reading disability students. There were three groups,40 elementary students, 40 junior high school students and 40 senior high school students, and every group includes 20 students with reading disability and 20 excellent students .In experiment 2, eye-movement recordings and error detection tasks were used to investigate the reading comprehension monitoring ability of students with reading disability. Dependent variables included fixation duration time, mean fixation duration time, number of fixations and saccade distance. There were 39 elementary school students taking part in experiments 2, including 19 excellent students and 20 students with reading disability. The results were as follows:(1)Errors detection ability, calibration of comprehension ability and comprehension monitoring achievements for students with disability were significantly inferior to excellent students.(2)Subjects had different reading comprehension monitoring ability for error information characterized by different types. In other words, comprehension monitoring ability for error information characterized by lower difficulty was better than higher difficulty.(3)Subjects' errors detection ability, calibration of comprehension ability and comprehension monitoring achievements increased with age.(4)The interaction for error types and types of students, error types and grades...
