The ancient Chinese education is owe which is blended and doesn't have its own language and literature subject. From the point of modem meaning , Chinese language and literature education comes into being with conduct of , which has went through one hundred years. The reform of Chinese language and literature education for hundreds of years, which is the same as the process of Chinese modernization, has various connections with education abroad. In a sense, foreign education affects and restrains the history of the reform of Chinese language and literature education lasting for hundreds of years .this paper will classify the influences of foreign education affecting Chinese language and literature education into five phases.The first phase is the period of establishment of modern Chinese language and literature education. During this period, we introduce the educational system from Japan and carry out . In this way , we primarily build the system of modern Chinese school. Chinese language and literature subject gets rid of the attachment of Confucian classics and Ke ju ,and it has become a subject with itself educational goal, content, principles, and methods.The second phase is that educational ideas have undertaken some basic changes from May 4th new cultural movement to the beginning of liberation, as enhancing the cultural exchange between Sino-US, especially the introduction of pragmatism. In terms of Chinese language and literature education, there are typical reforms is building the criteria of language and literature Subject, the system of editing language and literature books and the approach of language and literature teaching.The third phase is that imitating the soviet model has become the present national policy after the liberation of new China. With respect to education, while following Kailuofu's pedagogy, therefore, teaching isclass has formed a fixed model. However, the subsequent teaching method , < Red scarf> constitutes the solid program for language and literature teaching, namely presenting the general meaning of the paragraph, concluding the main ideas and analyzing the writing feature. And all of these ways are quickly accepted by most teachers, which has been taken as laws and is being followed up to now. At the same time, Chinese and the attempt for literature division teaching has accumulated some experience for our teaching reform.The forth phase is that where China has entered into a new historical period after 'cultural revolution' was over, language and literature education is faced with the golden time for reform. It has made great progress is educational ideals, teaching outlines, editing the teaching books and the reform of teaching methods, especially is the prospect of teaching accession. According to American standard, it has been established the system of teaching accession for modern education preliminarily. Simultaneously the reform of compulsory and quality education also obtain periodic effect.The fifth phase is that at the turn of centuries the large scale of discussion about language and literature education wake up the people's consideration of basic education and makes people begin to look into the orientation of the development of language and literature education for new centuries. We should start out a new circle reform is primary education on the basic of post-modernist educational beliefs and the expience of western countries' reform is basic education. The reform of new course has profound meanings, and at the same time it also meets with various kinds of difficulties and challenges.
