Music is an art of voice which can create its image. As one of the elements of voice, the timbre plays a very important role in music performance. Thus the timbre can directly reflect whether the exponential understands and performances the work or not exactly. On the base of seeking for major factors which influence the piano timbre, this paper researches how to perform the graceful voice through some technique when we play piano.This paper includes three chapters.In the first chapter , this essay defines the concept of the piano timbre. The timbre contains abundant meaning, therefore it is very complicated. But this essay gives the timbre a comprehensive, precise concept through the analysis of physical, physiological and psychological aspect.In the second chapter, based on the articulation principle of piano this essay finds two major factors which influence the performance timbre: the movement of the piano' s hammer and pedal.The third chapter is the importance of this paper. In this chapter the author researches all technique that controls the timbre according to their relation, and find there are two kindsof technique: the physiological technique(piano technique) and the psychological technique. The physiological technique which includes touching key technique and pedaling technique is the fundation of mastering and controlling timbre when playing piano. The psychological technique is a condition which has to control timbre. The exponential must have a good sense of voice which is the precondition to obtain euphonic timbre, and in the meantime it must strengthenthe hearing training to have the ability using sensitive ears to judge the timbre. The two kinds of technique are interrelated and interactional. The exponential wants to play the euphonic timbre, not only depending on the good piano technique, but also needing to improve the psychological technique. Through continuous training and improving these two kinds of technique, the exponential can control the piano timbre freely.
