| Yang Xingfo (1893-1933) is very famous in Modern Chinese History from 1919 through 1949. Be well known as a famous patriot and loyal soldier, he is also an early proponent and leader of Modern Science in China.With regard to his experience, Yang Xingfo is firstly a scientist. When he was young he had a great dream that he could save his compatriots from poverty and disease. Later he accepted the modern opinion and decided to strengthen the country by science and industry. Study abroad for 6 years had provided him a lot to be a science. He received his bachelor of mechanical engineering degree and completed the MBA study successively. Then he actively engaged in the work about Science and Chinese Association of Science. And he also had been practising in Ford Motor Company for half a year. When he came back to China his passion in science was even higher. He vbmasterminded the complex edit of Science and propagandized for science by his understandable lectures. He even suggested the boxer indemnity be used in science and education. As the main secretary in Central Academe he actually shouldered the mission to organize and develop the science career in China.However, our general impression is he is a politician and soldier who contributed the life to save his country and his people. He joined into China Alliance when he studied in the college in China. And he took part in revolution after the Wuchang uprising and later he worked in the temporary president secretariat. After 1924, Yang Xingfo conquered difficulties in saving the nation and devoted himself to political revolution again. During the Great Revolution he actively engaged in the activities of Kuomintang and Communist Party and maintained the friendly relationship between two parties. Moreover, his political place had risen continuously which was owe to his surpassing energy and excellent ability. After the failure of the Great Revolution, he joined in Chinese Federation of Civil Rights, he called on democracy and freedom, he opposed the kaiserism of Chiang Kai-Shek and he sympathized with the revolution of Chinese Communist Party. At last, he contributed his life to this great career.Moreover, Mr. Yang is also an educationist. He had taught in Southeast University for six years. During this time, he was admired by advanced teachers and students for his ample knowledge and responsible attitude. Later, he was invited by Cai Yuanpei and became the sub-decanal and director of the institute. He actually took charge of the countrywide education in that time. Meanwhile, he also paid attention to the industryand tried to develop it by science. He even had an unsuccessful practice.In conclusion, Yang Xingfo is the famous social activist in Modern Chinese History. He dissatisfied with semi-colonial and semi-feudal society, he called on people to change the undeveloped government, science, industry and education in China and he contributed his life to the great career. Therefore his great achievement will be remembered and learnt by people forever.From 1893 to 1933, which in its short life, he had experienced the period of the Old Democratic Revolution and the New Democratic Revolution. In its short life, he conformed to the trend of historical development, practiced of saving homeland by science,production, education,evolution, the third road and so on.In its short life, he will own all the energy and efforts to save the nation, even paid his young life. He played a great role model for the contemporary Chinese people, and truly showed indomitable pride of the Chinese people.
