In modern society, the greatest pain of a person is not caused by material scarcity suffering, but spiritual suffering. The development of productivity increases competitive pressure which makes us feel tired. But we don't know what the meaning for life is. Sense of nihility makes people fall into a deeper level of pain and worry. In pang, oscillation and anxiety, how can people of the time, who lost their "spiritual home", rescue themselves? So "self saving and saving others" was proposed by Buddhists. It recognizes atman through anatman, erases conceptual thought, explodes perseverance, and overcomes the confrontation between self and other, individual and colony, nature and human, so that self can be in harmony with other and colony and that self can gain the great liberation. Specifically, it requires that all beings should purify their three modes of activities of deed, word and thought, get rid of selfishness and constantly observe six paramitas, which are dana, sile, ksanti, virya, dhyana and prajna. Its practical significance lies in three aspects. Firstly, for individual, it takes extreme care for modernists who have lost themselves, so as to make people realize the significance and the value of their existence and uplift man's spiritual state and ideological moral standards. Secondly, for the modern market economy, it has a profound significance of guideline for building a harmonious enterprise culture and at the same time helps to achieve a "win-win" concept in the modern commodity transactions. Finally, it helps to create a good social atmosphere and build a harmonious society.
