Being the identities for the people on web, internet IDs has broken the traditional pattern as given names followed by family names, presenting a virtual but colorful society. Those who were born in the 1980s' were called as "post-modern generation". They form the majority of network users. Based on individual investigations and the questionnaires, this thesis comprehensively analyzed the characteristics of internet IDs commonly adopted by young generation. Firstly, those IDs were classified and deciphered according to their character formations and meanings. Then further discussions focused on three aspects: esthetic appeal, social culture and psychology of "post-modern generation". In the end, some viewpoints regarding the growth of youth-in-1980s' were given.
