The concept "learning both sound in theory and practice" is firstly put forward by the Confucian schools, and has developed in china for more than 2000 years. However, in modern times, with the deconstruction of autocratic system, and the spreading of western learning it has been put into a dilemma.Against this cultural background, Ma Yifu posed two propositions: "all learnings are included in six classics" and "six classics are included in mind". The two propositions can be viewed as his own interpretation of the traditional concept, "learning both sound in theory and practice". In the thesis, the author aims to analyze Ma Yifu's understanding of the concept and the sub-proposition he posed, i.e. "nominal rectification lying in mind rectification".In the first chapter the author analyzes the concept "mind justification". It includes two aspects. Firstly, "mind justification" has the meaning of virtue resource;secondly, "mind justification" has the meaning of cognitive ability. In the second chapter, the thesis further explains the concept "nominal rectification". The author believes "nominal rectification" is the extension of "mind justification" in the field of value judgment. The third chapter explores the relation between "mind" and "existence". Firstly, the author discusses Ma Yifu's proposition, "nothing outside the mind". Ma Yifu thinks that all the things in the world are in the subject's mind, and that the behaviors of the subject have universal significance. Thus the study of "existence" is included in the "mind" in this sense. In addition, this thesis also discusses the universality of "mind". Ma Yifu thinks this universality can be embodied through the experience of the subject. This is the characteristic of Confucius introspective study, however, the dogmatism of the system can also be reflected by it.Finally, the author makes a comparison between the view of Ma Yifu and Mou Zongsan on the concept "learning both sound in theory and practice", and makes a summary of Ma Yifu's thoughts of Confucianism.
