Northern Song Dynasty was an era in which culture was prosperous and each kind of artistic classes were mutually impacted. Under this kind of rich artistic atmosphere, the Northern Song Dynasty literary circles emerged large quantities of multi-talented scholars, like Ouyang Xiu, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian and so on.Their works were usually filled with abundant ideological content. Qin Guan is one of the outstanding among them. He got achievements and his own opinions in such aspects as novel, tea culture, calligraphy and painting art, Zen Buddhism ,and all these had corresponding embodiment in his works. So the special study on Qin Guan's works becomes a subject that is worth taking. This thesis divides into four topics, they are the novel art in Qin Guan's works, tea culture in his works, the calligraphy and painting thought in his works and the"Poetic Buddhism"in his works. It carries on the preliminary investigation and analyses to Qin Guan's related works. It does not strive for attending to each aspect of a matter, but focuses on some achievements.In the first, the novel creation in Qin Guan's works: Qin Guan seemed to have no relation to the novel creation, but there were actually novels in his works. Few as the quantity might be, but it did indicate his concern about this kind of literary style. The collection of Ten Tiaoxiaolings And Poems is then the clear proof. Various kinds of literary styles can influence each other, but the novel creation to him was more than a kind of game. This attitude of writing endowed him with a new way to deal with the impacts of the external world. We can see this in some of Qin Guan's ci and poems.In the second, the tea culture in Qin Guan's works: The tea culture of our country taked shape in the Tang Dynasty, thanks to the great efforts of Lu Yu, the"tea celestial being".
