Pragmatic Research About The Negative Category Of Modern Chinese

This thesis synthetically does the research and analysis about the negative category of modern Chinese in terms of pragmatics, adopts the method from form to meaning consulting some viewpoints of pragmatics, functional theories and cognitive linguistics and aims to explain its pragmatic features and functions. All theses results include collection and investigation in this aspect. The main contents are as the following is:The first part describes the relationship between the negative and pragmatic premise and further explores the pragmatic features of negative from the negative forms; The second part does the research about the negative focus, which is divided into the comparative negative focus and the natural negative focus; The third part synthesizes the related situations of the pragmatic negative; The fourth part analyzes the embodiment of the pragmatic principles based on the cooperative principles and polite principles; The last part discusses the pragmatic value of the negative of modern Chinese, especially for the vagueness of the negative sentence and its pragmatic effects.
