Meditation Of Tracing Chinese Traditional Culture To Its Source: Expression Of Appreciating Ugliness Under The Aesthetic Ideal

Sprung up in the middle period of 80's, the literature of tracing roots, as the important part of Chinese contemporary literature, promotes national consciousness to revive significantly under the background of globalization. It not only carries forward the native literature of the earlier half stage of 20^th century, but also liquidates the early negative effects of modernity in an aesthetic way. And it forms a unique method of expressing ugliness under the aesthetic ideal of recasting national spirit. Furthermore, the artistic level it can achieve is determined by the degree of syncretizing aesthetic ideal and expression of appreciating ugliness in the works of tracing roots.Divided into three parts, this thesis overall disserts the issue on expressing ugliness in the works of tracing roots under the aesthetic ideal. The first part probes the cultural background in which the literature of tracing roots rises, and elaborates from the two respects: linguistic context of globalization and its own need. The second part separately elaborates syncretizing aesthetic ideal and expression of appreciating ugliness: from analyzing the two major sources of pursuing beauty, pointes out clearly that the literature of tracing roots recasts the national spirit by the aesthetic ideal; from the aesthetic angle in the expression of appreciating ugliness, Point out that appreciating ugliness' special historical background appearing in the literature of tracing roots. The third part, Make a concrete analysis of "The White Deer Plain" and " Dad Dad Dad " , confirms that it could achieve a unique charm of the literature only if the aesthetic ideal and the expression of appreciating ugliness syncretize perfectly; otherwise, the literature of tracing roots will move towards to its ending inevitably.The characteristics of the paper is to make an explanation on of the complicated times which the literature exists, get held of the development of the literature, analyze the literary works with a view of philosophy, art and literature, critical the ories and combine literature with aesthetic theory in scientic ways.
