The complexity of design phenomenon is closely linked with the process of socialdevelopment, and the constant changing and development bring an eternal subject of productdesign,that is innovation. The introduction of developing scientific theory and newtechnology make products more advanced and more perfect. It is important that must be paidattention to the products innovation design to fully utilize advanced design theory,scienceand technology.The products are not only the object of product design, but also the carrier of productsinnovation. Through evolved the Darwin theory of product development, this paper amplifiesthat product information be chosen by market to refract market demand. On the basis ofapplication of this theory, a conclusion is drawn that the product information has a deepintension as the constant changes of the times develop. Design conceiving is at the early stageof design program, and its goal is to describe the basic information of product form, function,and etc. And design process itself is a course in which products synthesis included a great dealof information is generated through analyzing various kinds of information of the presentproducts. It has been verified that there are some laws that can be followed to design for theresearch of conceiving methods to product innovation. But the existing conceiving methodsmostly concentrate on the subjects conceived which are the rules of the igniter of people'sinnovation thinking and the conceiving methods based on the market information. The studyabout conceiving methods from the product information is going on under the condition oflacking systematic theory. In the paper, the inherent characteristic of product that is productinformation is paid closed attention for the purposes of getting clear conceiving methods andways of innovation from innovation source. And product-information-based conceivingmethods to innovation design are carried on exploratory research.The paper adopts instance analysis, documents arrange, logic thinking approach and etc.Product information and existing methods, which are based on inherent characteristic of theproducts, are analyzed. Product information of law is applied to the course of conceivedinnovation. Four kinds of product-information-based conceiving methods to innovation designhave been combined out, and then relevant applications have been described separately.Finally, two demonstrations of innovation design of bicycle and cup, which are conceived anddesigned based on product information, are provided.If product-information-based conceiving method is used, the information in the course ofproduct evolution can play a big role in the process of product innovation design, and theperformance of the products can be improved conveniently and pointedly, wider paths toaccelerated product innovation design are offered too. This study provides a theory for productinnovation and substantiated the design theory of products innovation and establishes thefoundation for studying further at the same time.
