We start from the relationship between Chinese idioms and philosophy to studythe philosophical thought reflected in the idioms, which is helpful for us to understandthe Chinese traditional philosophy through Chinese idioms, further reveal ourfive-thousand-year magnificent culture and make a contribution to our culture cause.To develop the basic spirit of the Chinese culture contained in the idioms helpsChinese and foreigners to study and use the elite of Chinese language--idioms.The thesis analyzes the general situation about the research on Chinese idiomsand the Chinese traditional philosophy, explains the general situation about theresearch on idiom culture in the linguistic circle and the research on Chinesetraditional philosophy in the philosophical circle and the connection between Chineseidioms and Chinese traditional philosophy.Then, the article analyzes the Chinese traditional philosophical spirit like "unityof heaven and human", "human oriented", "to be sturdy and strive to be stronger" and"peacefulness is most valuable" reflected by Chinese idioms, expounds the influenceand positive effect of these philosophic spirits on the modern society, development ofthe nation and self-cultivation, and its influence on the Chinese people's conduct insociety, that is, their view on life, value and world.Mr. Zhang Dainian believes, the basic spirit of thousands years of culturaltradition mainly contains 4 fundamental thoughts, i.e. "unity of heaven and human","human oriented", "to be sturdy and strive to be stronger" and "peacefulness is mostvaluable". The core of Chinese cultural tradition is the spirit of striving to be stronger,the spirit of tolerance and the value of "peacefulness is most valuable". Mr. Zhangargues that the core of Chinese culture is Chinese philosophy. Chinese philosophycontains much unique wisdom, three of which are closely related to the developmentof society: the first one is the wisdom about the relationship between heaven andhuman beings;the second is the wisdom about interpersonal relationship;the third isthe wisdom about succession and revolution. These wisdoms are also embodied in theChinese idioms, which is worth exploring.
