Study On The Ideal Personality Pursuing In The Book Of Great Learning

The Chinese civilization is one that has continued uninterrupted for more than 5,000 years. The distinct cultural tradition of the Chinese nation that developed in the long course of history has exerted a strong influence on contemporary China, just as it did on ancient China. But they also give expression to the progress of the times. In the Chinese civilization, Confucianism is the core, whose leitmotiv is to shape the Chinese ethos. The book of Great Learning ( Da Xue )is a collection of documents of Confucianism and is an important ancient codes and records which studies the theory of our ancient ideological and political education. Through delving into abstruse principles the book of Great Learning, the thesis tends to probe the ideological and political educational aim and the value of the times.The article is divided into four sections as follow:The first section focuses on the history of Confucianism through its edition evolution and development and studies its political thought, ideal personality and Confucianist theory development.The second section studies the basic contents of the book of Rites. This part defines the content from Morality, ethics and accomplishment. The three connect with each other and overlap one another. Then the article points out that the aim of ideological and political education of the book of Rites is embodied by the aim of morality and served by the aim' of ethics. The aim of accomplishment links the morality and ethics.The third section analyzes the core thought of Inner Sageliness and Outer Kingliness based on its derivation, modeling, meaning and characters and studies the Confucianist ideal personality in detail.The last part sums up the basic characteristics and the modern values of the aim of ideological and political education, Inner Sageliness and Outer Kingliness of the book of Great Learning.
