Ruanji was one of the Seven Worthies of Bamboo Grove inWeijin Dynasty. He was known as his odd temper, wild oats behavior,elegant and free literary, reserved poem. Ruanyu, Ruanji's father,was very talented and good at literature, poem and tune, and was putin a very important position by Caocao. Because of the influencefrom his scholastically based home, Yuanji had great politicalambition when he was young. He was well-read and talented, but hedidn't realize his early dreams because of change of the times. Facingthe cruel political situation, he did nothing but give up his pursuitand turned to Zhuang's theory, forming the dallying, unrestrainedimage of ideal personality of 'the Great Man' and advocating theZhuang's theory.Ruanji's ideal personality had great Nihilism influence, but hewas deeply indulged in it. He didn't agree with Confucian code inreality and the ways of getting fame and profits. He wasn't willing tojoin the group of Simashi, Hezeng. For him, he couldn't get the joy ofliving and the meaning of life at that time. Therefore, the dallyingGreat Man was his mind home to return to. The paper analyzes themeaning of Ruanji's ideal personality mainly from the four aspects ofcognition, emotion, motivation, behavior to understand his idealpersonality from a different angle.However, Ruanji met may difficulties and conflicts when hecarried out his ideal personality. Although his deed was very close tothe ideal personality, showing surpassing Confucian code, wild oatsbehavior had great influence on the people.But Ruanji showed a veryblue image at most time.He was one in a thousand that could bravelycarry out the ideal personality in the dangerous environmet. AndHezeng and Zhongkuai often wanted to punishe him but frustratedbecause of Ruanji's excuses of being drunk, being cautious and being talking about others without mentioning their names.In the last part, the paper mainly introduces the people'sevaluation of Ruanji's ideal personality and its practical significance,in the hope of understanding the influence of Ruanji's idealpersonality and Zhuang's theory in Wei-Jin Dynasty from a new angle.
