In today's society of information commercial Illustration has become more and more accepted. The transmission role Internet has played in this respect should never be neglected. Commercial capital tries to win commercial clients through the potentialities of Internet development. Therefore, it is completely necessary to make use of the potential advantage of Internet to improve the study of commercial Illustration.The thesis is made up of four chapters. Chapter 1 elaborates the theory of commercial Illustration. It intends to clarify the basic concepts of commercial Illustration and the relations with other kinds of Illustration. Since the concept of commercial Illustration itself is very original, it is not discovered in presently accessible books and magazines. Therefore, this chapter is mostly the author's original exploration. The very first section of Chapter 1 includes the summary of basic concepts and categories of commercial Illustration. Commercial Illustration has two different kinds: direct commercial Illustration and indirect commercial Illustration. The directness and indirectness of commercial Illustration are based on the fact that the theory of commercial Illustration can be easily questioned and confused. The theory is the summarized result of the author's long time thinking. The First Chapter functions as the basis for the other chapters. Chapter 2 deals with the relation between the Internet environment and commercial Illustration. This chapter has analyzed the potential market's expansion of commercial Illustration as a result of Internet, the possible changes of visual transmission study, the changes of commercial Illustration market, and the changed application scope of commercial Illustration through Internet. Chapter 3 is mainly about the characteristics the "Post-80's" have brought to commercial Illustration. They cover the new characteristics in the environment of Internet in terms of cultural contents of commercial Illustration, of development market, and of artistic creation.
