Pop art is the artist by the objective existence as a creative carrier. It gives the value andmeaning of art works by the most popular and common way of expression. In twentiethCentury, it was originated in Britain and flourished in America. It is the only one accepted andacclaimed art schools image twentieth Century. Modern commercial illustration is thedelivery of information goods for the enterprise or product, image manifestation of art andbusiness as a whole. Both the degree of concern life style, grasp the subject matter, theconsumption culture and the technique of expression and use of color have a certain influenceon the modern commercial illustration.The design was unable to resist the commercial society of consumption culture’sinfluence on people’s spiritual field,in the design of modern commercial illustration, thedesigner with the characteristics of pop art, based on the objective substance foundation,through the activities of everyday life, the characters and so on borrowing and re creation,make ordinary things shine with new luster, better through the mass media to convey businessinformation, attract the public attention. This paper analyzes the origin and historicaldevelopment of pop art and the modern commercial illustration from the Western point ofview. In the technique of expression characteristics and color characteristics of pop art work,analysis of the relationship between pop art and modern commercial illustration. Illustratedthe way in order to explain modern format design, poster design, packaging design, bookdesign, Webpage design, application of pop art in the modern commercial illustration.Conclusion: the injection of fresh blood pop art for the development of modern commercialillustration, art and business closely intertwined, from various fields to promote thedevelopment of modern commercial illustration fusion and diversification.
