New Leftist Literature

Since the beginning of the new period, the literature has undergonedramatically changes from the anti-leftist literature at the beginning topresent liberalistic literature of all kinds, whether ideological criticism,form revolution or personal writing. They all neglected the criticism ofongoing ugly phenomenon which largely conceals the most people's lifein reality. Critique circle takes evasive attitude towards the critical works,and it is unfair to the most people. Especially in the 1990s and the societymajor change period of subsequent occurrence, literature "alogia" andwriter of "absence" became more and more serious. Literary criticismshow an aristocratic pattern and the discourse or aesthetic tastes of themiddle class led the literary circle. New Leftist Literature is the rebel tothis kind of literary phenomenon.New Leftist Literature sees the new Left as a sort of source ofdiscourse, through which to find a way of self-statement in which the textmeanings can be mined, and relying on the generated meaning ofcharacter from the discourse of the new Left in reality to self-validate, andtaking use of its critical nature to express itself to the reality. So therelationship between the both is not source and result. As a whole, NewLeftist Literature can be largely classified into five types: the first is thosewho expose corruption, fight against corruption, and advocate probity.Their themes are mainly relevant with the officialdom. The second is instrong concern with the fate of those with low social status and the weak,exposing the crime, attacking unfairness, concentrating on those who hadthe poor quality of life damaged or enslaved so as to fulfill the idea whichcriticizes reality and intervenes with the reality. The works are muchmore and they are characteristic of the New Leftist Literature, andworkers and peasants act as their main characters. The third emphasis onexposing the criminal power, calling for justice and conscience. Thefourth shows the awakening of the intolerable weak who aware their ownposition and take on a preliminary bud of revolution. The theme of thefifth works is about the descendents of the past villains who try to launcha vengeful counterattack in new period.New Leftist Literature is a political discourse or discourse of politicswhich convey lower political veiw. It is a rebel discourse of the lowerpeople, acting as their spokesmen, depicting their real power relationshipsand power structures in the reality objectively, expressing values andideals of pursuit of equality, justice and democracy, particularly thosemarginalized, lower real position since the 1990s .Its critical ideologicalcharacter is its very premise, it refuses performances and fashion innature. If treated as fashion, it would become another objective existence.As a kind of politics New Leftist Literature treats the texts from twoperspectives, one from the lower which can be called the weak, anotherfrom the perspective of reality criticism, namely from the tendentiousideological perspective. It is also very characteristic in the narrative. Inthe sense of thought trend, New Leftist Literature is an ongoing,controversial and not very mature name which is to be normalized. Itsstudy is at the very beginning, so its rich meaning is to be furtherexplored while its law needs further summing up.The paper consists of three parts. The first part is on the literarybackground of New Leftist Literature emerging, primarily reviewing andreflecting the literature phenomenon in the new period, especially sincethe 1990s. In this part , the discourses of the middle class which aredominant in critic circle are criticized and the texts which present voicesof disadvantaged groups are expected and appealed to;In the second partthe New Leftist Literature is formally put forward, It involves therelationship between literature and the New Left , the science andpossibilities of the name of the New Leftist Literature, the type of the NewLeftist Literature and the comb of developing clue of the New LeftistLiterature as well;The third part argues for a New Leftist Literaturetheoretically in which the slogan that literature is politics is re-presented,and the political meaning of literature, some political concepts andstudy perspectives of the New Leftist Literature are explained. Meanwhilethe concrete works is taken for examples to explain the New LeftistLiterature is also very characteristic in the narrative which is worthpraised.
