"Cold Fleer" And "Warm Cynicism"

This paper is on the premise of paying close attention to comparison of comparative literature, and carries on comparative studies of the satiric style about the novel of Lu Xun and Dickens, then found their satiric styles can be named "cold fleer" and " warm cynicism" separately.There are mainly three aspects of the humorous characteristic about Lu Xun's novel. First is the language. which includes narrating and works personage's language. Second is the large number of typical characters images. These personages' behavior is fantastic and funny and have artistic appeal deeply. Third is the dark world represented by Lu Xun with the humorous style. The heart there is numb , cold , social corruption of favor , in addition the author narrates with one grave and stem style, few to reveal while being passionate. all these bring up Lu Xun " cold fleer " humorous style of novel. There are a lot of reasons which caused Lu Xun's "cold fleer " artistic style . In this paper , era environment , literature tradition , life experiencesand literary ideas are investigatedThe humorous behavior of Dickens' novel is various. This paper has mainly investigated three aspects according to the structure of the article. First is the language. The language of relater and works personage's dialogue are both witty and humorous. Second , he portrays a lot of funny typical characters images. Third, Dickens' novel satirizes social bad system, such as legal system and system of relieving gently, laughs at the ugliness of those persons doing evil and of human nature. But Dickens insists on portraying the heroic figure and front image in his novel, insists on showing the sunshine side in the human nature and tries to bring people to a beautiful world inside characters. Moreover, narrator can seldom cover up his own emotion but narrate with passion. The above-mentioned several factors cause Dickens' "cold cynicism " characteristic of novel.
