Since the "new literature era", the publication of Jia Pingao's "Miss The Wolf " and JiangRong's "Wolf Totem" had initiated a trend of "wolf literature", which has also helped the comingout of certain "wolf" novels. This paper makes a brief discussion on this cultural trend.With the view that the wolf image is no longer unitary but diversified in the "new era", theauthor, in the first part of this paper portrays the subversion and breakthrough of the traditionalwolf image. In the second part, the author discusses the cultural connotation of the new wolf imageregarding to wolf nature and human nature,the wolf image and totemism,the wolf image and lifepassion as well as the wolf's external image and the introduction of western learning to the east. Inthe chapter on wolf and human nature, the author regards both of them as an organic oppositionentity. In the chapter on wolf image and totemism, it was elaborated that the wolf is the totem ofnot only the ethnic minorities but also the entire Chinese nation. On one hand, the Chinese nation isa big family in which many ethnic groups live together with the nomads being an important part.On the other hand, man always holds in his deep memory the initial fooding methods which areobtained through imitation of the wolf without doubt. Thus, dragon, worshiped by the Han People,possibly also has the wolf image. In the chapter on the wolf image and life passion , the wolf 'svigorous life tensity and passion are portrayed. In the chapter on wolf's external image and theintroduction of western learning to the east, the author gives a brief discussion on the commonnessof the wolf and western learning .The third part discusses the "wolf narratation", mainly from thenarrative perspective and the narrative discourse. With consideration to the whole ecology, thefourth part examines the wolf and expects the arrival of a new ecological pattern: men's dancingwith the wolves.
