Procrastination is a prevalence phenomenon, in the general people, 25% reported it as a problem behavior, 40% of those suffer economic lose. In the student, procrastination is also popular, its can take 1/3 position of their daily event, and have a rising trend.This study is base on the theory of temporal discounting, survey 79 college students in 36 days, exploring the effects of temporal discounting and task character on procrastination. Results show that, in the period of preparing exam, procrastination do exist. The trend of actual studying behavior and motivation match to the temporal discounting curve. On the actual studying behavior, there exit a remarkable difference between procrastinator and non-procrastinator, intention-behavior gap is the causation.Task character is the main situational resource of the procrastination. This study shows that, there are different on style of making choice between procrastinator and non-procrastinator. Procrastinators tend to choice worsen sequence, non-procrastinators prefer to improving sequence. Meanwhile, there are also different on the beginning point between them, the shorter space between tasks, the more likelihood they procrastination.
