Achievement goal theory is one of a number of social-cognitive theories of motivation that have emerged since the"cognitive revolution"of the late 1960s. Achievement goal theory has attracted many researchers'attention in recent years. Based on the brief history of past research, the relationship between classroom goal structure, achievement goal orientation and learning strategy, performance was reviewed and research problems and assumptions were presented. In this research, 208 students as subjects were selected from second grade of junior middle school in the city of ChangChun and city of ShenYang. Then"classroom goal structure questionnaire","achievement goal orientations questionnaire"and"learning strategies questionnaire"were performed in the study as well as the mathematic performances were collected. All the date were analyzed by the software of SPSS 11.5. After carefully analyzing and discussing the results, we find several conclusions as follows:1. Classroom master goal structure is dominant in present classroom.2. Classroom master goal structure can positively predict personal master goal orientation, and classroom performance goal structure can predict personal performance-approach goal orientation and personal performance-avoidance goal orientation.3. Classroom goal structure can directly predict learning strategies, at the same time, it can indirectly predict learning strategies by the mediator of achievement goal orientation.4. Classroom performance goal structure can directly influence on the learning performance, at the same time, it can indirectly influence on learning performance through personal performance-avoidance goal orientation.
