Being paid too much attention to the illustrious historical achievement ofXenophon, people nowadays always neglect his great contribution in economic field. With deviation from the human nature gradually by the development of modernmainstream economics, very limited assessment and evaluation on Xenophon'seconomictheoryhavebeenmade. The scholars at home and abroad discuss Xenophon's theory based on theframework of the modern economics. Although this is favorable to comparativeanalysis, subconsciously such a proposition comes forth: the later theories encompassthewholeXenophon'stheoryandthelatertheoriesareasthestandardforXenophon'stheory. On the one hand, then some biased inclinations will come out such that the laterconcepts are indiscriminately imposed upon the ancient counterparts like "economy","family", "fortune", etc. On the other hand, the focus of the later theories is notdefinitelythe same focus of Xenophon'theory, which will twist the original meaning.Assessing the previous by the later standard will often overlook the flashpoints of theprevious like the human-based ideas throughout his theory. This point was once longneglectedbythedomesticmainstream. This dissertation firstly strives for bringing Xenophon's economic thought back, including some key concepts, the original ideas of his theory and his motivation.Secondly, on the basis of these thoughts, the long overlooked aspects of human-basedideas and the economical ideas based on ethic and moral aredisinterred.
