The Analects of Confucius is one of the most original and important classical Confuciandocuments, and the obligatory readings of literal people in ancient China. Ancient scholarsagreed that "the essence of the study of Confucian classics was in the Analects" and "thequintessence of the Six Lections lies in the Analects" as well. It exerts great impact not onlyon the Chinese lection and academic history, but also on the politics, thoughts, culture andeven people's daily life in China.Since Han Dynasty, a large number of works on the study and interpretation of theAnalects have been yielded. This paper focuses on only one part of the research history andtries to give a thorough account of the study in the Wei and Jin dynasties. By discussing theannotation works of the Analects against the social, political, ideological and culturalbackground, we explore new achievements in Wei and Jin, make a systematic arrangement ofthe annotation works of various scholars and carry out an examination of the collection andcollocation of missing scripts.In comparison with the study in Han, Wei and Jin produced bulky connotation books..The Analects study in Han and Wei Dynasties culminated in the famous AssembledInterpretation of the Analects,which included diversified views, and initiated the assembledinterpretation mode to classical works. Another book is the Paraphrase of the Analects, whichstarted the practice of interpreting the Analects with metaphysics. the Annotation of theAnalects by Li Chong was a representative of the ideological trend and academic movementof his age.
