Bamboo slips of the han dynasties from dingxian "The Analects" unearthed in 1973, is the earliest discovered "Analects of Confucius" copies. The copy was finished in the early of Western Han Dynasty (before Yuan Feng-three year). The thesis compared "The Analects" written on bamboo slips with the traditional edition book of "The Analects" to describe and analyze the variants. Then we can find the features of characters and words which were used in "The Analects" written on bamboo slips. And we can conclude the Language features of the early Western Han Dynasty.The thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter 1 describes the object and reviews the research status of the Bamboo slips of "The Analects". Chapter 5 is the conclusion of the whole thesis. The other chapters are the main body of the thesis. Chapter 2 researches the variants from the perspective of philology. We divide the variants into 3 parts:variant, archaic words, borrowed words. Chapter 3 researches the variants from the perspective of textual criticism. In this chapter, we divide the variants into erratum, hiatus, superfluous words and the inverted order. Chapter 4 researches the variants from the perspective of lexicology. We analyze the different words which have the same meaning. All the research shows the differences between "The Analects" written on bamboo slips and the traditional edition book of "The Analects".
