Sacrifice, as a religionary phenomenon, has a centuries-old history in our countryDuring the period of Pre-Qin dynasty, sacrifice's effect on art is reflected by elegiacaddress, which is evidently seen in the Book of Songs and the Songs of Chu. Thisthesis' mainly purpose is to find out the difference of sacrificial rites between theBook of Songs and Jiuge, by the means of the comparison. And then to analyze thedeeper reasons which had brought about these differences. The first part is to draw the outline of the primeval religion simply. With theanalysis of sacrificial rites evolution, I briefly introduced the historical culturebackground of the Book of Songs and Jiuge. The second part's object is The Book of Songs, which is realistic and utilitarian.By the introduction of these main aspects, such as the stated amount of the sacredpoem, sacred objects, sacrificial offering, sacrificial ceremony, the dead body, sacredpoem's characteristic etc, I want to analyze the characteristic cult of The Book ofSongs. The third part's main content is to interpret Jiuge, which is romantic. Throughthese points of view, such as making sure of the quality of it, distinguish of the sacredobjects, characteristic of sacred objects, sacrificial ceremony, characteristic ofsacrifice and so on, I elaborate on Jiuge. The fourth part is the comparison between the Book of Songs' sacred poem andJiuge. By the comparison, the purpose is to find out the common ground and thedifferentia of them. And then to explain the reason that had caused these differencesfarther in the view of the culture, with the evolution of the Zhou -Tribe and Chu-Tribe introduced.In a word, sacrificial rites as a carrier of social ideology, it is the mirror of thetime. The produce and development of the sacrificial rites is closely linked with theevolvement of the culture on the time. So it is of greatness in significance to study thesacrificial rites for the culture's evolution.
