The Study Of Non-verbal Existential Sentence

Non-verbal existential sentence is a relatively special kind of sentence. On the base of other researches, this paper has made a research on non-verbal existential sentence in terms of syntax, meaning, diachronic development, and typology meaning and function.In terms of syntax, we both describe and analyze the former part and the latter part, and explain the structural features of non-verbal existential sentence as a phrase.In terms of meaning, we start with non-verbal existential sentence, emphasize its most prominent feature and conclude such features of meaning like the quantity of the object located in some place. We exercise cognitive theory and further analyze such restrictive relationship like the scope of existed space is larger than that of existed object. The comparisons of cognitive prominence among existed space, existed object and existed manner in non-verbal existential sentence are that existed object is larger than existed space and existed space is larger than existed manner.With the development of non-verbal existential sentence, the sentences like"location+ numeral+ measure word+ (adjective+) noun"play a primary role. We call them typical non-verbal existential sentences.In terms of diachronic development, we review the appearance and usage of non-verbal existential sentence. We find that non-verbal existential sentence, mainly from poesy, appeared in Han Dynasty and came into use in Sui and Tang Dynasty. Yuan Dynasty was the fastigium of its usage.In terms of synchronic development, we review non-verbal existential sentence in other languages. We find there is non-verbal existential sentence in Finish, Russian, Tujia language and Hani language; in addition, there is also non-verbal existential sentence with the noun as predicate needs modifiers and restrictive conditions. Therefore, the review of the existence of sentence condition of non-verbal existential sentence is meaningful in language.Non-verbal existential sentence has mainly the function of information and text. Otherwise, non-verbal existential sentence can present its special function of underlying information.
