Book of Rites is a works that emphasizes particularly on interpreting action and meaning of propriety in ancient China. It has not only the contents that are numerous and jumbled, but also the diverse style of writing so that there is very high value of language in it.This article is a treatise that researches idioms of Book of Rites. The treatise first analyzes and discusses different standard of idioms and makes certain quantity of idioms of Book of Rites; based on qualitative analysis, describes and analyzes the idioms' source, structure and form, grammatical function, some characters of ancient Chinese, some cultural phenomenon in ancient China and their development; then summarizes characteristics of idioms of Book of Rites.This paper tries to prove that the source of idioms of Book of Rites is pellucid; Most of these idioms are written language and four-word form; They have the same structure and form to phrase and grammatical function to word, which reflects the idiom's characteristics in structured forms well; They also reflect some characters of ancient Chinese on phonetics, vocabulary and grammar; They reflect some ancient cultural phenomenon and ideas, views or opinions, which are soul of Book of Rites; So with the development, these idioms get to more permanent and perfect gradually, keep and glorify the spirit of rites of the Chinese Nation.
