This study aims at examining the reliability and validity of the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning---SILL, while it is used to measure the English studying strategies of Chinese college students. By comparing the Cronbach'sαof 6 scales and that of the general inventory of different samples, the researcher is convinced that the inventory is highly reliable but several items should be revised to meet Chinese conditions. By applying confirmatory factor analysis, the researcher identifies SILL has a 2-factor measurement model, well matching the Oxford's language learning strategies theory. Then basing on the testing results of SILL, the researcher presents the features of English studying strategies used by Guizhou college students. In the end, the result of regression proves that if one's English is comparatively proficient, his/her application of Indirect Strategies will possibly predict his/her English learning achievement, such as CET-4.
