Western Sichuan Plains discussed in this thesis is the geographic area in a broad sense, including the area of Fujiang River, Minjiang River and a part of Qingyijiang River. The tombs of this area publicly released are more than 200. Researched by scholars before, they, however, were not collected and settled in accordance with all kinds of shapes during the period of Donghan and Xihan Dynasties, and the chronological system is very weak.This thesis collects the published data about more than 120 tombs and analyses them again systematically in order to make the cultural images, reflected by tombs in this area during the period of Donghan and Xihan Dynasties, known to the world. Then it aims to primarily discuss the process of formation and development of Han-culture in this area.This thesis is divided into 7 parts.Part I. ----Introduction.It defines the geographic research scope of this thesis, and simply reviews the status of the Western Sichuan Plains. In spite of appraising the research fruits, it also points out the shortage and primarily gives out the research aims.Part II.---The shapes of the tombs and bierFor the sake of the construction ways, it divides the tombs on the Western Sichuan Plains during the period of Donghan and Xihan Dynasties into 3 categories, and makes a conclusion about the biers in the tombs.Part III. ---The research about the typology of burial artifactsIt researches the typology of typical things, such as Ding-tripod, Dou, Pot, Kettle, Zeng, Basin, Bowl, Jar, Jing, Qun and so on.Part IV. ---The research about the phrases of the tombsBecause of its special character, the Category C is discussed separately from the...
