Xiao Hong is a writer with independent personality and her unique style in literary history of the twentieth century. With her brief, frustrated and bitter life of thirty-one years, she leaves literary works of nearly one thousand words for China's literary world.By compactly combining Xiao's unique life with her literary course and creative attitude, this essay explores dynamically and grasps integrally all her creation. With the outline of demonstrating her life course, by applying principles of the literary and art psychology and referring to the literary theory of feminism, it explores, depicts, analyses and sums up the threefold thematic connotations of Xiao's creation, i.e. the life tragedy awareness, the female tragedy awareness and the tragedy awareness of regressing homestead. The threefold themes are interwoven and relied heavily on one another which exhibit a tendency of both countering and coordinating the mainstream creation in modern literary history as a whole. Xiao's position in modern Chinese literary history is settled in the reevaluation of her works.
