As he was a great scholar incorporating all the strong points of six dynasties, Yu Xin's works obtained the widespread attentions and affections from scholars of later generations. The researchers of him emerge one after another incessantly. It is necessary to take further study of him because Yu Xin had many unique characteristics such as his hard experiences, his sincere thoughts, his rich emotions and the ambiguities of his works. In fact, Yu Xin's works have reflected his inferiority complex to a great extent. The self-humiliation interweaving with disgraceful situation and the integrating of agony with grief and indignation, form his strong tragic consciousness. Chap I: On YuXin's inferiority complexThe inferiority complex refers to one's absence of self-confidence due to various eternal or internal reasons. Its essence is the suspicion and denying of the individual to his or her own abilities or self-values. A lot of Yu Xin's works reveal much his deep inferiority complex.A large number of his homesick and expatriated works, which were created after he entered the north from the south, not only is the clear manifestation of his emotions on the great changes of life, but also is the reflection of his inferiority complex.The origin of Yu Xin's inferiority complex: In the period of Jing Hou Chaos Yu Xin's flightism (Before he saw the enemies, he ran away.) was the most essential reason. In addition, reasons such as his movement to the north, keeping balance in being loyal and filial, incompletion of his bold task, his older state of psychology, difficulty to find bosom friends and his tragic personality, etc, were all other important ones causing him to feel self-humiliation. When the inferiority complex is cumulated to certain extent, it must be relieved in certain ways. Yu Xin chose literature, and through literary creation, he can overcome the inferiority complex.
