Reading Intonation is tough in the PSC testing and training. Currently, the trainers and the teachers both need more reasonable intonation evaluation system for the training and the testing. The research explores the reading intonation errors from the aspects of the tune errors, the relative prominence errors, the tone group errors and the article naturalness errors based on Ladd's theory and the real performance of reading intonation to satisfy the evaluation requirement of the test.The listening perceiving experiment on the 100 PSC samples has been conducted by using Praat 4.2.31 and the data have been processed by SPSS 11.0. The research analyses the typical intonation errors and explores the relation among the pronunciation grades, the intonation errors and the pronunciation levels. This research has contributed to the research of the intonation errors, of the intonation, of the phonology acquisition and of the intonation teaching and testing. Firstly, the research provides a new approach for the research of the intonation, especially the research of the intonation errors. It has been proven that the approach used in this research is feasible and effective considering the supra-segmental feature of the intonation. Secondly, the research also provides the basic principles for the intonation evaluation systems. It describes the distribution of intonation errors in different pronunciation grades and intonation levels, has discovered the features of different intonation levels and the typical intonation errors. It also finds that the different kinds of intonation errors contributes differently to the intonation errors: tone group errors> tune errors> relative prominence errors.Finally, the research shows that the pronunciation levels and the intonation errors are closely related after exploring the relation among the intonation errors, the pronunciation grades and the pronunciation levels. It also shows that the acquisition rules for single and the comprehensive phonologic elements are different.In short, the research explores the reading intonation errors of PSC to provide the basic principles for the intonation evaluation system.
