Qi Dan music is the center of this article .The main idea of this passage is the relationship between Qi Dan music and the music from other Dynasties that prior to, after or of the same time with Qi Dan. The music of Qi Dan came from the Sui Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty. And it led to the music of Jin Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty. Qi Dan music plays a very important role in Chinese Music History.The Liao Dynasty was set up by Qi Dan people, controlling Norse prairie of China as long as 400 years. Its politics, economy, culture had dualism. One was impressed with feudal dynasty; the other was the trait of Norse prairie of China. So Qi Dan Music inherited the Sui dynasty and the Xian Bei. Because of this, the music of Jin Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty became so well rounded.Liao Dynasty was established in the times when the situation was so complicated. Increasingly, Liao became powerful after it had contacted with the Song Dynasty and West Xia. At that time, wars among them were continual in North China. The war, ally, trade between Qi Dan and other kingdoms accelerated the amalgamation of folk and music, which is another clue of the article: the intercommunion of music and culture among Qi Dan and other folks which were contemporary with Qi Dan.The paper centers on the Liao music, together with other two main strokes, from the point of musical culture to illustrate the great devotion in the history of Chinese music, which was made by Qi Dan and the later known as Liao Dynasty.
