The Utilization And Research Of Bamboo-Culture In Environmental-Art

Bamboo provides a lot of material for modern environmental art design by its delicate shape and internal essence. Chinese garden, which inherits long history of the bamboo culture, is reputed as voiceless poem and satiric picture. Planting, using, and drawing bamboo have prevailed among Chinese people for several thousand years. Bamboo has been playing an important role in the process of Chinese civilization development.There are 6 chapters in this paper. The first chapter includes main purpose of this paper. The role of bamboo culture in Chinese traditional culture is discussed in chapter 2 by analyzing natural and culture characteristics of bamboo. In chapter 3 and 4, the worth and significance of bamboo in the modern Environment are discussed in the view of aesthetics and ecology. In Chapter 5, the role of bamboo in environment art, bamboo cultivation, and bamboo Utilization in modern Environment are explored in the view of design methodology. In chapter 6, there is an example analysis, which is a recent project on environmental design. The conclusion is the last part of this paper.Only traditional theory has been discussed in most books about modern bamboo culture. They only focus on cultivation and manufactory techniques and etc. There has no paper discussing how to use bamboo in the modern Environment. Based on this, in the view of culture, aesthetics, and modern design, this paper systematically studies bamboo utilization in the modern Environment and further development by the research of traditional bamboo culture.Today we are facing energy crisis. Bamboo inspires us to find new solution. That is less expense and more gain. Design in the future will be based on broad survival method. The main point of the environmental design is to economize resources, reduce consume, satisfy people request but not lust, and improve people spiritual life.Because bamboo is a good material for environmental protection, the author tries to utilize the current research achievement of bamboo to modern environmental design in this paper.We believe that our country have plenty of bamboo resources and strong bamboo culture. As long as we reasonably utilize those, we can create romance by using bamboo culture in modern environment.
