JiangKui And JiangXi Poetry School

Jiangkui ,who lived in the latter Song Dynasty,excelled in poems and Ci and wrote a theoretic book— Talking about poems.He was persistant in learning from Huangtingjian's poetry and finally emulated from Jiangxi Poetry School.As a result,his poems formed an elegant and exact style.Considering the theory of his poetry and his poems,we can still find there is a trace between his poems and those of Jiangxi Poetry School.Fadu, Xueyang, Miaowu andYige in the theory of his poetry were absorbed from Jiangxi Poetry Study and in time surpassed it.His poems were grealy influenced by the former poets,representing a style called "Shou"and "Ying" .Therefore,The most outstanding character of his poems are deep and profound in meaning.As to his Ci, he employed the method of Jiangxi Poetry School to write his own developing a kind of new style called "Qinggang"and "Lengjun".Because his Ci in describing things negelected the appearances in order to catch hold of their spirit,the composition or language of his poems was "Shouying"and "Qiaoba". As Zhu yunzun said in Cizongfafan, "Ci became orderly in the latter Song Dynasty and began to change in the end of Song Dynasty,but Jiang yaozhang was the most outstanding among the poets" and"Ci became elegant because of the diction of words and sentences."Zhu pointed out for the first time that Jiangkui played a very important role in Ci history. Meanwhile he still cited out Jiang's achievements to found a new Ci School.To my knowledgement,Jiangkui is a noted writer who was good at both poems and Ci.Therefore,studying Jiangkui's works under the circumstances of Jiangxi Poetry School is the key to improve the research level of Jiangkui.
