Wilhelm Dilthey's Aesthetic: Twofold Of Life And Hermeneutics

This paper explains firstly Dilthey's the main resource of thinkings ,that is to say,he is fanatical to the concept experience in his life aesthetics because he believes theknowledge in empiricism philosophy. And the concept understanding of historicalrational explanation in his Hermeneutics results from the development ofKant's philosophy. And he makes imagination help experience andunderstanding . In the background, he focus on the questions such asmeanings,value of everybody and so on in his life aesthetics but heconfronts the conflict of life. For this reason,he is going to make theart poetry help life but he lastly can't get the answer. Here, this paperprobes into the reasons of why his life aesthetics is turned intoHermeneutics. The reasons are mainly the contradiction of every life andhistorical life , and the concept experience itself. Because he want toresearch the objective knowledge. Hence he turns into Hermeneutics. Andthis part of the paper firstly finds out the meanings of the conceptunderstanding and the relation between it and experience. Continuously thepaper analyse the significant question of linguistics in his Hermeneuticsand the aesthetical ask of linguistic art. On his view, understanding can helplife in arts. Basing on this thinking, his aesthetical thinking is summarized lifeinterpretation aesthetics. And their relation and meaning is analysed. Lastly, hiscontribution,that is to say, he had influenced Heideggar and Gadamer. But the limitof his limit is doomed to be transcended and disregarded in aesthetical history.
