Study On The Contemporary Melodrama Of H.K.

As an indispensable part of diversified genres of Hong Kong film products, melodrama cinemas have a good representation of the typical Chinese cinemas style in narration and expression. The thesis takes a systematic research on Hong Kong melodrama cinemas despite its down tide in recent years.The author aims to analyze the Hong Kong melodrama cinemas in three aspects: the historical review, the aesthetic study and directors review. Firstly, by taking into consideration the history of Hong Kong cinemas and the diachronic development of the society, the paper looks back at the origin and the structure of Hong Kong melodrama cinemas, and predicts its future development. Secondly, this thesis explores the artistic experiences through the aesthetic study of Hong Kong melodrama cinemas classics. Thirdly, this thesis elaborates on the diversity in different directors' creation.The research on Hong Kong melodrama cinemas clearly unfolds both the successful experience and the possible flaws, thus instructive to the future development in China's film industry.
