Nowadays, Hong Kong film study concern about some issues like the first Hong Kong film, birth of several early Hong Kong films, origins of a U.S. film business man named Benjamin Brodsky and early Hong Kong films, Lei brother Man Wai and Bei Hai's contributions to early Chinese films and so on. As important research fields in recent years, these topics once again become the focus of film scholars. In response to these issues, some scholars have proposed new ideas different from the traditions since 2003. What's more, they've already done some research work. From 2003 to 2010, the Mainland, Hong Kong and foreign film scholars have joined the discussion and explore a lot of early English materials. They made a more explicit research and study of these controversial historical issues. So that controversial issues with the end stage.This paper will try to sort, summarize, compare and research with the expression of early Hong Kong films history and new foreign materials. Then do analytical think of the first Hong Kong film-related with the characters, events, and other controversial issues of the early Hong Kong film history. Discuss of early Hong Kong film's production conditions, film distribution, and development process of production companies. The activities of early Hong Kong films and contributions to the Hong Kong film of local or foreign film staffs.Articles focus on academic issues:research and carding of the first Hong Kong film, tracks of traditional film histories, and the produce dates of<The Defamations of Choung Chow>,<The Trip of the Roast Duck>, and relationship between Brodsky and early Chinese film. Will also be involved in the process of research methodology, thought to make point of view summarized, and the possibility of continuing in-depth study.
