Lexical Study Of Dongjing MengHua Lu

Dongjing Menghua Lu, one of Meng Yuan-lao's masterpieces in Song Dynasty, describes the prosperity and splendor of East Capital Bianliang, the capital of North Song Dynasty. The book has extensively diverse content and affluent languages, always valued by people. The languages in this book are particularly characteristic, and highly colloquial. From the angle of lexicology, the dissertation makes preliminary study of the book, and concludes three characters of lexes in this book.The dissertation is divided into four chapters:First chapter is prologue, which briefly introduces the general situation of Dongjing Menghua Lu, including Meng Yuan-lao & Dongjing Menghua Lu, and the content, circulation of versions, present status and significances of the study etc.The other three chapters analyses the three characters of lexes in the book respectively:Firstly, affluence of lexes, which is mainly found from the existence of a number of nominal words, self-explanatory words, and extensive use of thesaurus; secondly, temporality of lexes, which is mainly found from the existence of a number of new words and meanings; thirdly, territoriality of lexes, which is mainly found from the existence of a number of dialects in the book.While analyzing temporality of lexes in the book, the dissertation highly explores the contributions to compilation of large-scale lexicology by new words and meanings in the book; while analyzing territoriality of lexes in the book, the dissertation combines ancient written materials and modern dialect of Henan, and paraphrases several dialect lexes in the book. Simultaneously, the dissertation discusses several shortcomings of such large-scale lexicology of Great Chinese Dictionary, Great Chinese Dialects Dictionary.Otherwise, the end of the dissertation is attached by survey and notes recorded in the study of book.
