Ci poetry is called the essence of literature in Song Dynasty. Liuyong and Zhou Bangyan are two famous poets in North Song. They are at the essential position in the history of Ci poetry. Liuyong contributed greatly to Ci development. He warded off a broad sky in addition outside traditional Xingling and initiated a new era of Manci. His Ci embodied brave development and innovation on the eyeshot, esthetic angle of view and writing methods. He established thick foundation for Song Ci and had the profound influence to the sequent poets. Younger generation Zhou Bangyan learnt from Manci of Liuyong, by his rich cultural and musical attainment, unique life experience and intelligent heart, he became a great poet and wrote down a lot of works. The structure of his works is strict and the rhyme is exact, so his Ci is significant and elegant, On the base of the above outstanding characteristics, Zhou Bangyan made great meaningful effects on the sequent poets, especially artistic skills. Scholars in the study of Ci have noticed the relation between Liuyong and Zhou Bangyan, two poets in the North Song Dynasty, which was inherited and transformed, but their attention usually centered on the artistic form of the Ci of two poets. This essay presents a dynamic inspection from Liuyong's and ZhouBangyan's Ci in the light of two writers' life experience, social background, artistic style and works content. A contrastive study of the similarities and differences between Liu'Ci and Zhou'Ci, is helpful for us to understand two writes' writing individuality further.
