| Lin Huiyin, an outstandingly charming poetess in modern Chinese history of new poem-writing, opened up her fruitful land at the beginning of the new poem-writing era with her independent writing style, artistic talent and deep thought. The land she carved up not only belongs to her, but also modern Chinese history of new poems. Truly reflecting her soul, her poems stem from her polished taste and extraordinary flair—the spirit combining life aspiration and tenacity from her comprehensive knowledge of China and the west; her poems also originates from her complete, rich and beautiful human nature— the life denoting the independence and freedom from her sensitive mind and purely noble human nature, even bringing some kind of tragic feelings like nirvana.Pitifully, such an emotional and talented poetess as Lin Huiyin, for a long period of time, was neglected by history. With the coming of commodity economy, people would like to keep discussing about her unrivalled beauty, talent and moving love stories rather than perceive her glamorous life in terms of being a poem writer, an intellectual and a person of dignity and respect. Given this, this paper tries to revivify Lin Huiyin's poetic life through careful text reading, and further put her poem-writing into the historic line of modern Chinese era of new poem-writing, and deeply research into the look and spirit of her poems to explore their unique artistic and thinking values. |
