This thesis, based on cultural, literary and filmic history of Chinese xia, Japanese samurai, West-European knight, is conducted under theoretic guidance of structuralism, literary narratology, filmic narratology and semiotics and in the perspective of comparative literature, to compare three typical film texts about Chinese and foreign chivalrous warriors in parallel, to find their subtle difference and common points, and to reveal cultural and literary significance among them. Furthermore, in the context of social and cultural transformation of post-modernism, new literary forms such as film and TV text, multi-media text, computer interactive text, internet hypertext and so on are emerging, and a revolution in the mode of human being and its culture may happen in the trends of merger of moving pictures, internet and mobile telephone techniques in future. Thus, the interdisciplinary comparison of narrative structure between literary text and film text, especially cleaning up and discussion of multi-media discourse theory and forms in filmic narratives, is outstanding its theoretic significance on the frontier of narratology, literature and art development in future.First, this thesis has cleaned up the cultural, literary and filmic origin of these three film texts, its trace of inheriting and innovation on the genre, and the influence of texts existing prior to these three texts.
