On The Transmutation Of Shen Congwen's Novels

Shen Congwen and his creations have been complicated existent in Chinese modern literature history. With his particular means, he shaped his own typical characters, which were the result of his many dimensions connection with the world. Only in multi-angled view that can get the complete connotation of Shen Congwen and his creations characters. What the present research work has done are as follows: two cultures that can be seen based on perspective of ethics; links with the thoughts around the May 4th Movement of 1919 on the perspective of philosophy; the imbalance from the regional perspective; the communication and amalgamation of Chinese culture and western culture in the aspect of the literature history.Despite of all kinds of observation angles, putting Shen Congwen and his creations in Chinese history, with positivism this paper attempts to analyze the course of the transmutation of Shen Congwen's Novels on the perspective of politics, and to penetrate the"assimilation"to certain crowd in the development of Chinese modern literature. Few ideological forms in China have nothing with politics, from the"satire''tradition of Book of Odes,"literature conveying morality", to"to express the mind is also to convey the moral"said by Zhou Zuoren who once thought"Literature is artists'own garden and express the mind". He said,"To convey the artist'own moral is to express the mind and to express the others'mind is to convey the moral. From a view for the moment, it would be better to differentiate them with sincerity and insincerity, more clearly."Therefore, not to mention politics also means an attitude to politics. From the research several changes of directions can be seen in years of creations of Shen Congwen, generalized as follows: self-narration of the world around him as an"outlier", the birth of political tendency, criticism from the political culture perspectives, and then discourse of the times. The author attempts to put the object in the macroscopic historical context of the time to investigate the internal and external causes for these changes.
