Focusing on the love writing of both sexes is an important part of Shen Congwen's novels.Different from the maturity and stability of literary creation in the 1930 s and 1940 s,the love writing of Shen Congwen's novels in the 1920 s has been in the process of groping.With the passage of time,the connotation of writing has also changed accordingly.The first phase was mainly concentrated from 1924 to 1927.The rise of the May 4th love novels has formed two writing modes,"self-narration " and " problem novel of marriage and love ".Taking this as the object of study,Shen Congwen has written a large number of imitation works,but these exercises have not shown the essential difference compared with the love novels of the May 4th period,and the literary value of them is naturally not high.The second phase occurred around 1928.By drawing lessons from the western classic love novels "camellia girl" and "the trouble of young witt ",shen Congwen gave the romantic love experience of urban men and women,but these proposed love stories and his own life is too far away,so the novel creation quickly fell into the dilemma of repetition.The appearance of local love desire makes its creative connotation not only begin to overflow the writing program of the May 4th love novel,but also gradually get rid of the shadow of reference to the western novel.But at the same time,we also found that the local and urban love writing in the creative attitude,sexual performance and the pursuit of literary fashion there are many isomorphic tendencies.The third stage was 1929.The opportunity of self-run publication,let Shen Congwen finally have the opportunity to realize his own literary pursuit.Through the root-seeking of the Miao culture,Shen Congwen reconstructs a paradise of human god and pleasure,sublimates the realistic love desire of Xiangxi to the holy and beautiful divine love,the narrative center of gravity changes from the sexual love of two feelings to the sincere emotional communication between men and women,and the narrative mode changes from direct exposure to implicit,which makes his novel truly enter an aesthetic world.
