Abstract: Fredric Jameson is well known as a leader of new Marxist in America. He sticks to the critical view of the new Marxism and devotes to show Marxism at the modern age. As early as in 1976 Jameson mentioned a concept about Marxian historicism in his essay The Critics In History. He thought it would converge various historic theories and gain a new "historicism" which is a start to discuss any questions is looked as an end sense of all senses by Jameson He put many different critical viewpoints which contain useful and positive factors in his own historic narrative and use historicized strategies to analyse society and culture.This paper tries to have a deep lookthrough of Jameson's historicize and discover the true value.The first chapter is "the basic view on history".There were two classcial historicism in the past. One is old historicism.The other is Marxian historicism. Both are agree that literature is a way to recover situation surroundings in history. But they have different understanding to history and face the same challenges. New historicism's appearing is necessary and reasonable because it is a unqiue way to go back to history. It doesn't simply return to old history and Marxian history. It absorbs some parts of them,especially post-structural historicism. It attempts to combines Marxism with modern cultural critics and create a new historicism critics. This is Jameson'thoughts that he will reopen a way to study literature. History is no more an objective existense. It is a process of subjective movement. History is no more past facts. It is a form of text. History is hermeneutics and records.The second chapter is "historicize as hermeneutics strategies". With the challenge to classical history from Linguistics and other theories, Jameson did his best to cope with. He redefined the concept of history in the field of "Language" and "Totality". After analyzing the difficulties which traditional history met. Jameson gives his solution—structural historicism. He thinks this structural system is manufacture manners which is from Marxism. The concept of manufacture manners is not only to show present things, but the past things. It's a consequent system.
