Under the guidance of Braj Kachru's "Three Concentric Circles Model",the thesis studies the impact of different accents on the performance of consecutive interpreters in English to Chinese consecutive interpretation and correspondently, various strategies have been adopted. Furthermore, the thesis is to offer some effective methods to interpreting learners.Theoretically, the thesis introduces consecutive interpretation, definition of accent and Three Concentric Circles Model. Through experiments and interviews as well as quantitative and qualitative analyses, impacts with varying degrees on interpreters caused by different accents and related methods adopted by interpreters have been studied. In empirical research, experimental subjects are divided into three groups to interpret a speech record with same content and speed but different accents. Through contrast analysis, the thesis concludes that interpreters have an assortment of ways to cope with the influences resulting from different accents in order to improve the interpreting quality. The author of this thesis hopes that in the future more studies can be carried out to expand the research area of accent interpreting, and this thesis can be served as a reference for interpreting learners.
