Meanwhile, in the basis of in-depth study and synthetic analysis to the content of his thought of mind and nature, this article excavates its important theory value from both horizontal and vertical dimensions and explores its great practical significance to current society. This article believes that the mind and nature thought of Lu Jiuyuan is the result of elucidating to that of Dacheng, Shangcai, Xinbo and Wugou with Mencius' propositions of mind and nature, also nurtured by his home school environment and affected by the Zen Buddhism's thought. The creation and rising of Lu Jiuyuan's thought of mind and nature in the Southern Song Dynasty, and the formation of argument between Zhu Xi and Lu Jiuyuan, not only promoted the improvement and development of Zhu Xi's Lixue , but also created Lu and Wang's mind study which made rival claims as an equal with Zhu Xi's Lixue, thus achieved the turning of Neo-Confucianism's trend from Cheng and Zhu's Lixue to Lu and Wang's mind study. So, the research to Lu Jiuyuan's thought of mind and nature will undoubtedly be of great importance for us to fully understand Neo-Confucianism and even the history of Chinese philosophy.
