Background: Traffic accident is one of the important problem in public health now. According to the WHO'statistics, there are 1,200,000 population death due to traffic accidents, and millions of injuries .Our highway mileage is 4.9﹪of the worlds and the holding of the car is only 1﹪, but the death of the whole is 14.3﹪,the growth rate of death is 77.6﹪,the mortality is 31.3 people/ten thousand cars, it is in the second of the world. So the problem of traffic accident has become the social problem which is paid extensive attention. The studies on this are 4 aspects: 1. behavior; 2. fatigue; 3. mentation; 4. driving adaptability. There are few studies on unsaturated fatty acid concentration of RBC membrane, and in china there is no such study. Objective: To find some difference between the driver and health control cases, and to find some risk factors for traffic accident, especially the correlation between the unsaturated fatty acid and traffic accident. Methods: The accident driver group was drawn out from Dalian Shahekou district (113 cases). The driver without accident matched on sexuality and age (100 cases).Control group is from Dalian physical examination center (100cases). We have used Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index to find the personality characteristics and sleep quality .Fatty acids concentration is measured with high-performance gas chromatography.Result: There is significant difference between the accident drivers and health groups at DHA (P=0.000), EPA (P=0.000), 20:3(n-6) (P=0.028),...
